YMCA Membership Cost in Canada
Every YMCA sets its own price. Here are five, read on their own sites. Adult, young adult and senior rates, joining fees and how to cancel, city by city.

YMCA of Greater Toronto
The membership page publishes no rates, and the sign-up portal it links to returned an empty page to our reader. Its cancellation rules are on the page: Written notice at least 15 days before the next payment date; no phone cancellation, no back-dating, no refund of monthly payments; joining fee refundable only if cancelled within 10 days.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a YMCA membership?
It depends on the city, because each YMCA is a separate local association that sets its own rates. On October 24, 2026, an adult membership was $90.20 a month in Calgary (GST included), $67.20 a month in Kelowna (before tax), $29.25 every two weeks in Winnipeg, $21.49 to $40.49 every two weeks in Greater Vancouver (estimated, by age) and $546 a year in Montreal (POLY, before tax).
Does the YMCA have a joining fee?
Most of the associations we read do: $75 for adults in Calgary, $75 to $100 in Greater Vancouver, $60 in Winnipeg. In Montreal, the page lists a $35 administrative fee on every cancellation. In Kelowna, a cancellation fee applies within the first year ($15 student, $30 individual, $50 family).
Is there a cheaper YMCA membership?
Yes, most YMCAs price by age. Young adult and senior rates are lower: in Winnipeg, $22.50 every two weeks for ages 18 to 24 instead of $29.25; in Kelowna, $54.60 a month for ages 19 to 24 or 65 and over, and $33.60 for students.
How do I cancel a YMCA membership?
Each association has its own rules. Calgary: month to month, pause or cancel at any time with no charge. Greater Toronto: written notice at least 15 days before the next payment, no phone cancellation. Kelowna: in person or by email, with a fee within the first year. Montreal: at least one day before the next billing date, at the front desk or by phone, with a $35 administrative fee.
